  • Sarah Rogers

    Principal Physiotherapist

    Sarah Rogers is the director and founder of Physio on Bayside and The Jaw Clinic. She is a highly skilled physiotherapist graduating University in 1999. Sarah is known as the premier physiotherapist in the Redlands area and has a reputation for providing exceptional care to her clients.

    Sarah has a special interest in the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and has extensive knowledge in the management of jaw pain, also known as temporomandibular disorder (TMD). She is passionate about helping her clients find relief from their TMD symptoms and improving their overall quality of life.

    In addition to her work at Physio on Bayside and The Jaw Clinic, Sarah is actively involved in continuing education and stays up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in the field of physiotherapy. She is dedicated to providing her clients with the highest level of care possible.

    Sarah trained in Glasgow, Scotland but emigrated to Australia in 2010 with her 2 children. Sarah enjoys travel and is an enthusiastic soccer fan!

  • Sarah Medcalf

    Physiotherapist

    B.App.Sc (Physio) APAM

    Sarah graduated in 2005 from Sydney University, since then she has gained a wide range of experience in both adult and paediatric, acute hospital and private musculoskeletal practice settings in Sydney and London. Sarah has worked in the Redlands and been an integral part of the Physio on Bayside team since 2016.

    Sarah is an extremely experienced Physiotherapist with a history of getting results for patients with headaches associated with neck and jaw pain. She now utilises those skills with her hands-on approach to TMJ and jaw pain.

    Sarah is also heavily involved with student education which she feels passionately about.

    When Sarah is not treating clients you will find her walking her dog or enjoying family time with her 2 daughters.

  • Danny Gardner

    Physiotherapist

    DipFit BAppSc MPhtySt APAM

    Danny Gardner has extensive experience in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy having studied Human Movements, Sports Science and Personal Training prior to completing his physiotherapy degree in 2012. Danny is Redlands born and bred and has been getting great results for clients on the Bayside and his local community since he qualified.

    Danny has a vast array of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports injuries. He is also passionate about mentoring new graduate Physiotherapists and you will regularly find him leading training sessions for the younger physios.

    Danny has a specific passion for treating hyper-mobility disorders specifically in children and adolescents, this has led him to undertaking further training and becoming an excellent TMJ physio, as hypermobility and jaw problems often occur simultaneously.

    When he’s not treating or mentoring, you will find him at the gym or on the soccer field, or undertaking a bit of DIY!

  • Jess Kuczynski

    Physiotherapist

    Jess graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University. Through her studies she gained extensive knowledge in all fields of physiotherapy and had a keen interest in musculoskeletal injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation. With her experience in Exercise Science and Physiotherapy she has the ability to incorporate a holistic style treatment by incorporating manual therapy, education, exercise and functional strengthening. She believes in a hands on approach to assist in pain relief and joint mobility coupled with education and exercises to maintain in session relief and help patients to achieve their goals.

  • Michael Olivotto

    Physiotherapist

    BA MA MPhty APAM

    Michael graduated with a Bachelor’s in Archaeology from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s in Near Easter Archaeology from the University of Toronto in Canada. While working as an archaeologist he sustained several injuries that resulted in chronic pain and restrictions. Through a combination of physiotherapy, strength training and yoga he was able to eliminate the pain and improve his function. This success led Michael to pursue a career in yoga, personal training and physiotherapy.

    Michael graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master’s of Physiotherapy. He draws on his experience as a personal trainer and yoga instructor to inform and strengthen his practice. Michael uses a combination of hands-on and exercise to provide targeted individualised treatments.

  • Laura O'Donoghue

    Physiotherapist

    BSc. AT, MSc. Physio APAM

    Laura graduated from a Bachelors of Science in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy from Ireland and a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Scotland. Laura has gained a variety of experience within hospital settings and private practice thought out her studies, having additional experience working with a wide range of sporting teams, including working with professional baseball in America. Laura has a keen interest in all aspects of Physiotherapy with specific interest in treating musculoskeletal injuries and sports rehabilitation and vertigo conditions. She values the importance of using combined treatment methods including manual therapy, gym-based rehabilitation and education to help reduce pain levels and promote function while assisting patients to achieve their treatment goals. Laura has undertaken further studies in Dry Needling and Pilates and is available for both 1-1 and group Pilates classes.

    Outside of the clinic, Laura has a love of travel and all things outdoors!

  • Georgia Meredith

    Physiotherapist

    Bphty APAM

    Georgia is Redlands born and bred! Having attended Carmel College where she won a number of accolades including awards for academic excellence, dance and QATSIF Young Indigenous Leader Award, she then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Griffith University.

    She has a keen interest in musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation, as well as specific interest working with dancers, having a 13 year background in competitive dance. Georgia prides herself in getting the best outcomes for her clients through effective hands-on treatment as well as exercise and education. Georgia is a ray of sunshine in the clinic who's positivity is infectious!

  • Kieran Wallwork

    Kieran joined the POB team as a New Graduate in 2023, following achieving an outstanding 1st class honours degree in Sports and Exercise Science from UQ and a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from Flinders University in SA. He spent his teenage years living in the Bayside and is a graduate of Iona College in Wynnum.

    Kieran has experience in the field of soccer and AFL both as a sports trainer and Physio. His background in sports and exercise science makes him an expert in exercise prescription, and his belief on using hands-on manual therapy ensures his patients walk out feeling better. Kieran has a special interest in Jaw and neck pain, and is currently undertaking TMJ training to also be a member of the Jaw Clinic team.

    Kieran also has a secret skill of being a whizz in the kitchen and has hidden talents as a pretty mean Barista!

  • Tarj Townson

    Physiotherapist

    Since graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from The University of Queensland in 2022, Tarj has swiftly carved a niche in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. His enthusiasm for exercise and movement led him to complete the Sports Physiotherapy Level 1 course and the Level 1 ASCA Strength and Conditioning Coach certification. Tarj aspires to become a titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, bringing a hands-on, exercise-focused approach to patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.

    Tarj's passion for sports is evident in his work and personal interests. He has a strong background in running, AFL, soccer, surfing, and athletics, having gained valuable experience with the Brisbane Lions Academy (AFL). Currently, he serves as the head Physiotherapist at Eastern Suburbs Football Club (Soccer), where he applies his expertise through the clinic's alignment with the club.

    Previously, Tarj played for Mt Gravatt in the QAFL and participated in high-performance squads in AFL and athletics during his youth. Now focusing on his professional career and running, he fully understands the commitment required to achieve and return to one's goals. Whether addressing general back stiffness or supporting high-level athletes, Tarj leverages his diverse experiences to provide the best possible care for his patients.

  • Brett Hawker

    Physiotherapist

    BPhty(Hons) BBehavSc(Psych) APAM

    Brett graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) and holds an additional Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) from the Queensland University of Technology.

    Brett gained valuable experience across hospital, private and community settings throughout his studies. He additionally has experience as an aqua aerobics instructor and with adolescent sporting teams. Brett has a keen interest in treating musculoskeletal injuries and focusses on employing a combination of exercise, manual therapy and education to help his clients achieve their goals.

    When not in the clinic you might find Brett out exploring the various walking trails around the south east, in the gym or at the beach.

    Holly is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Griffith University (2023). With a keen interest in musculoskeletal injuries and sports physiotherapy, she passionately utilises hands-on skills, exercise, and education to ensure holistic recovery and help clients achieve their goals. Throughout her studies, Holly gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of clients, enhancing their lifestyles through her dedicated approach.

    Her love for sports, particularly swimming, stems from her background in competitive swimming. Holly's enthusiasm for sports extends to her professional life, where she has actively contributed to various sporting teams. She has worked with teams such as the U18 North Queensland Basketball Team, women's AFL Robina Roos and Swimming Australia athletes.

    Committed to continuous learning and improvement, Holly is dedicated to making a positive impact on her client's well-being and overall health through her expertise in physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation.

  • Tess Davies

    Physiotherapist

    Tess grew up in the Sunshine Coast's Noosa Hinterland, enjoying beach days and competing in netball and swimming. A classically trained pianist for over ten years, she also nurtured her artistic side. After finishing high school, Tess moved to Brisbane to pursue her tertiary education.

    In December 2023, she earned a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University. During her studies, Tess gained valuable experience in hospitals, focusing on rehabilitation and managing orthopedic and neurological injuries. Her keen interest in hand therapy led her to complete an intensive program at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she specialized in assessing and managing hand and wrist injuries.

    Tess is dedicated to sporting and orthopedic injury management and is committed to supporting clients throughout their recovery journey. She has also completed the ACSM Level 1 Strength and Conditioning course to enhance her practice. Outside of work, Tess enjoys pilates for her mental and physical wellbeing and has completed a Level 1 Clinical Mat Pilates course, offering 1:1 clinical pilates sessions.

    With her personable approach and passion for both hands-on and exercise-based treatment, Tess strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients.

  • Emma Brackstone

    Remedial Massage Therapist

    Emma is Physio on Bayside’s resident massage therapist.

    Emma works closely with our Physiotherapists to release those tight muscles and alleviate muscular origin pain.

    After working for many years in big business Emma decided it was time for a change. Massage Therapy was the answer.

    After being a massage client for many years Emma understood the value of the modality and wanted to spread the benefits to others.

    Emma is fully qualified and has been working in the industry full time for several years. Having worked with young and old, male and female, fit, injured and mobility impaired, Emma has extensive experience in the field and enjoys the challenge of working with each new client individually to reach their goals.

    Emma has a passion for prenatal care and holds a qualification in pregnancy massage, with years of experience Emma tailors her sessions to provide comfort and relief for expectant mothers.
